Live workshops

Couple with plantScaled

Live workshops are a perfect place to get your hands dirty while getting all your questions answered. Workshops can cover anything from basic skills and knowledge to creative endeavours so you can take your garden further — or just add a little bit of yard art and garden humour.

Our live workshops are more than just a trade of knowledge, though. They are a gift that you give to yourself, friends, and family. They are a place to meet like-minded people and trade skills and knowledge. But, most of all, they are a place to grow.

When it comes to workshops, anything can happen so bring your loved ones and kids to make a fun, dirt-filled, nature-loving day.

Group Workshops
Before you know it you’ll have an extended family of growing enthusiasts just like you.
Share & Grow
Share with each other and grow in your knowledge and skills.
Give the Gift of Nature
Having your own garden is a gift, and one that you can share with others.

Next live workshop on May 3

The next life workshop is proudly being held in conjunction with Project Kids Network. All donations will go directly to creating sustainable change for kids world wide. Their services range from education to medical, but all services provided by the PKN are sustainable for the long term by the communities they touch.

If you can, join us on Sunday, May 3rd at 1400 for a workshop on heart, soul, and soil.

Are you wanting to throw a garden party? We want to help it be successful and fun! You can book us to teach a workshop if we have a teacher in your area.

Current workshops available are:

  • Acids and Basics of Soil
  • Landscaping: An Artful Science
  • Basics of Bonsai: The Art of Pruning
  • Canning and Preserving

Do you want to lead your own workshop? If you’re part of the SUF family, we’ll pay for your supplies and help you advertise!

To qualify you must . . .

  • Be a relatively active member of the Savvy Urbanite Farmer for at least 6 months to show you’re serious about being part of the project and your dedication to urban farming/gardening.
  • have a workshop idea ready for submission. You can use one of the predesigned ones from the SUF DIY projects or design one yourself. Don’t worry, we’ll help you flush it out if you need help.
  • have an outline of supplies you’ll need and a budget set. Don’t forget to include your fees!
  • have a safe location where you’ll be hosting the workshop.

So, are you ready to share your gardening gift? Yes? Well, what are you waiting for?
